If you’ve ever wondered why the tech world appears to be simmering down on assessing newCopilot+ PCs—such as the much-talked-about Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7—there is a justification for this uncommon quietness.

The answer? Microsoft, the company making this product, caused a delay, so tech enthusiasts who are potential buyers have been waiting for these important reviews.

Microsoft’s decisionto postpone the Windows Recall featurehas caused a ripple effect, delaying shipping review units of Copilot+ PCs to media outlets. This action createda new ZDP (Zero Day Patch)to eliminate the problematic Recall feature and implement the required fixes.

Consequently, most reviewers got their review units on June 18th, 2024, when some of these Copilot+PCs were launched.

But not everything is quiet and waiting. Some reviews have started to appear, especially of the ASUS VivoBook S 15 that reviewers received before its official release. This device, which runs on a Snapdragon X Elite chip, has been appreciated for its performance, battery life, and unexpected affordability. The Snapdragon X Elite appears as strong as it boasts, performing well in different types of work.

So, what about the Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7? Well, as they say, patience is a virtue. Writing a complete review requires some time, and with review units only recently arriving in reviewers’ hands, it could take a little time before we see detailed analysis on these devices.

However, the initial hands-on reviews and box openings will soon be available. This may provide an early look at these new Copilot+ PCs. Until then, you can always go to Reddit andread the reviewsof those who have already tested the devices.

Just got my hands on the Surface Laptop 7, X Elite 12 core (16GB RAM) 13.8inch. Here are the details:

The delay has elicited a range of reactions. Some, like the Reddit user above, are enthusiastic about witnessing the performance of the new hardware, but some express doubt regarding AI characteristics and whereCopilot+ PCs are heading in general.

The postponement of introducing Copilot+ PC reviews shows how difficult it can be to release new technology in today’s fast-moving society. As reviewers understand these fresh devices, the technical community eagerly awaits their opinions. Will Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 fulfill their claims? Only time and the forthcoming reviews will tell.
