At this point, Microsoft Teams’ Copilot is definitely capable of many things, fromsummarizingto editing and composing messages and even acting as a co-worker with the help of the newTeam Copilotcapability.
However, Microsoft is also about to enhance it with time-traveling capabilities. Now, this might be a bit too much. We’re not talking literally about time traveling, but something more or less similar to it.
According tothe latest entryin the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Copilot will soon be able to answer your older requests. What does this mean? If you have asked a question in a Teams chat or channel left unanswered, you can now ask Copilot to answer it.
You can now ask Copilot in chat and channels to respond to questions regarding a conversation in a specific time period, for example: last month.
This is especially useful when tasks require reviewing information shared in the past in a certain Teams channel or chat. With Copilot in Microsoft Teams, you can have a valuable assistant who summarizes everything while considering multiple perspectives. So, it won’t only use files shared in a chat; it will consider the whole conversation around those files.
This means you can work on certain reports faster without manually looking for information shared in the past. So, no more endless scrolling and no more frustration.
Microsoft says the new enhancement is scheduled to be added in July 2024 on all versions of Microsoft Teams: from Android to Desktop devices, iOS, and Teams for Web.
Those who aren’t using Copilot in Microsoft Teams might change their minds, as this capability can be used to properly find information shared in chats and channel. Copilot can look it up and find it for you using natural language.
