It’s been a while since Microsoft teasedCopilot coming to classic Outlook, and when it did, the company announced that the AI model would have limited capabilities on this version of the popular emailing platform.

However, it seems that the Redmond-based tech giant has changed its mind. According to the latest entries to theMicrosoft 365 Roadmap, Copilot is set to be accessible on both the classic and the new Outlook for Windows, in all of its glory.

This Copilot will have the same capabilities as the one currently present in Microsoft Teams, but it will be arriving on different dates: for the new Outlook for Windows and Web, it will be released in May 2024, but for the classic Outlook for Windows and web, it will be coming 2 months later, in July.

The same Microsoft Copilot experience you can get from the Microsoft Teams app, at copilot.microsoft.com (“Work mode”), and in many other places is now available from within Microsoft Outlook for Windows and web. You can find the Copilot app in the left app bar. #newoutlookforwindows

The classic version of Outlook was supposedto be retired by 2025, but the announcement of Copilot coming to it made many wonder if Microsoft indeed wants to retire the version. It will existas a web platform, and the Redmond-based tech giant will support it until 2029.

With Copilot with all of its capabilities coming to this version of Outlook, users should be excited. Besides the existing summarising capabilities, Copilot will also search for information in existing emails, help you compose them, and even come up with drafts of its own.
