Chrome is a great browser because it constantly gets new features, and speaking of which, Google is working on a new multimedia feature.

Chrome will add native support for video chapters
According to BleepingComputer, Google is working on a new feature in Chrome that will bring support for video chapters. This feature has been present on YouTube for a while, and now it will be available for any embedded video.
With this feature, users will be able to break a video into different sections, each with its preview, thus allowing users to find a specific part more easily.
This feature is a part of the MediaMetadata interface for the Media Session API, and according to Google, it will be added to the blink layer based on the processed W3C API update.
According to theChrome Platform Status page, we can expect the following:
The corresponding implementation on the blink layer based on the w3c api change, which is to add the ChapterInformation attribute in the existing MediaMetadata. ThisChapterInformation applies to audio as well as video, since MediaSession is for both audio and video.
Regarding the availability, we expect to see this feature in Chrome for Desktop 126. As for other news,Chrome’s Safety Hub will be able to stop abusive notificationssoon.
That’s not all, as the company istesting a new performance feature in Chromethat will alert you if your CPU usage is high.
