Google is preparing to add an ‘upload prompt’ dialog for bookmarks in Chrome, which will appear when you save a new bookmark. The browser prompts you to save it to a specific folder in your Google Account.
Chrome has been prompting users to save passwords to their Google Account for some time now. This feature allows users to access their saved passwords across all devices where they are signed in with the same Google Account.
Google is now stepping in and could prompt users to save bookmarks saved in Chrome to particular folders in Google Accounts. The company is working on variations of this dialog, as you can see in the screenshots attached to the article.

Chrome already allows you to sync passwords and bookmarks to your Google Account. When you sign in to Chrome and enable sync, your bookmarks, along with other data like history, passwords, and settings, are saved to your Google Account and can be accessed on any device where you are signed in.
In addition to automatic syncing, you may encounter a modal dialog that prompts you to move local-only bookmarks to your signed-in Google account. This dialog appears if you have a signed-in account and helps you centralize your bookmark collection for easier management.
“Save to a folder in your Google Account? This bookmark is saved only on this device. You can save it in your Google Account”. The dialog reads.
if Chrome does indeed introduce this feature, it would likely work similarly to the password-saving feature. When you create a new bookmark, Chrome would prompt you to save it to your Google account. This would allow you to access your bookmarks from any device signed in to your Google account.
