Bungie is well-known for its popular franchises such as Halo or Destiny, but the company has released other games before them.
If you’re feeling nostalgic, you’ll be pleased to hear that Bungie’s first game is now available on Steam, for free.
Marathon is now available on Steam, and it’s completely free
In case you’re not familiar with earlier works of Bungie, their first game was a first-person shooter called Marathon. The game was released for Apple Macintosh in 1994 and it was Mac’s answer to Doom.
AsTweakTown writes, Bungie is developing a new entry in the Marathon series, and it should be a PvP extraction shooter.
If you want to know about the series, or you are just a fan of retro shooters, you’ll be pleased to hear that Marathon has been remastered by Aleph One Developers and brought to Steam, for free.
The game uses an open-source Aleph One engine, original game data with new 3D filtering, and positional audio. The game also brings support for 60+ FPS, modern hardware, and widescreen resolution.
The developers also plan to remaster other entries from the series, so be sure to keep an eye out. In other news,Witcher 3 REDkit is coming soon, so you’ll be able to craft your adventures from scratch.
It’s also worth mentioning thatSony has removed Ghost of Tsushima from countries without PSN access, and players who bought the game can expect a refund.
