Brave browserupdate added a series of improvements to AI Assistant,Leo.Leo also works now better with Google Docs and image-heavy PDFs.

Brave Browser’s AI assistant, Leo, gets a major upgrade withBrave Search integration! Now you can use the privacy-focused search engine directly within Leo for more accurate and secure answers to your questions. All supported large language models –Mixtral, Calude 3 Haiku, and LIama 3 8b–, can now use Brave Search.

Leo is now able to offer users more complete and current responses to their queries. By directly accessing information from Brave Search, Leo can quickly provide relevant data in real time, making it an even more effective research tool.

Quick actionsare accessible through the “/” symbol under the Brave Leo. This allows you to quickly perform various tasks without leaving your current page such as generating summaries, translating content, and more.

Brave browser has re-addedthe Safety checkfeature to brave://settings/privacy to check unused permissions. Brave performs regular security checks on your browser settings. You’ll be notified if any changes are needed.

Initially,Media Routerwas not enabled by default on Desktop but was on Android. The Media Router feature, which can be toggled in brave://settings/extensions, enables users to cast a Brave tab on a smart TV. After fixing a privacy issue, Brave browser has now enabled Media Router (cast) by default.

Some PDFs have text that can’t be accessed because they’re based on images. Leo struggles to summarize or comprehend these PDFs. Leo can now summarize image-based PDFs without any problems.

Brave’s Leo now supports full Google Doc page summarization.
