AMD didn’t create a fuss about the new Ryzen Mobile CPUs before their launch. Yet, the company introduced four new Ryzen 7000 series mobile chips to its product stack. However, there is a catch: There are only two new models. In addition, AMD didn’t mention them in blogs, press releases, or announcements.
The new Ryzen 7000 series mobile chips have the Zen 3+ architecture, also known as Rembrandt-R. In addition, they don’t have built-in graphics capabilities. So, each SKU requires a separate graphics card to function.
Ryzen 7000 series mobile chip specifications
The four Ryzen chips come in pairs. As a result, they have similar names. The only different aspect of their name is their designation, which can be H or HS. Here are their names:Ryzen 7 7435HS, Ryzen 7 7435H, Ryzen 7 7235HS,andRyzen 7 7235H.
TheRyzen 7 7435HSandRyzen 7 7435Hare 8-core/16-thread chips. They have a 3.1GHz base clock, a 4.5 GHz max boost clock, 16MB of L3 cache, and a thermal design power (TDP) of 45W but you can configure it between 35 and 54W. Furthermore, the two chips share the same product ID tray (FP7r2: 100-000001506).
On the other hand, Ryzen 7 7235 HS and Ryzen 7 7235H are 4-core/8-thread chips. AMD built them with a 3.2GHz base clock and a 4.2 GHZ max boost clock. In addition, they have an L3 cache of 8MB. Also, similar to the Ryzen 7 7345, their TDP is 45W, and you can configure it between 35-54W. They have the product ID tray: FP7r2: 1100-000001507.
All chips have their pages even if they share specifications. Thus, the ones using the HS designation could be for high-end gaming laptops, while the ones ending in H could be for devices with a lower performance. Also, on the official AMD site, just the chips ending in HS have their page translated into English.
Ultimately, AMD might keep just a designation for the Ryzen 7000 series mobile chips, especially since they share specifications and ID trays. However, they might differ in power consumption. Yet, we won’t know until AMD releases products featuring the new processors.
To dramatically improve your desktop performance, wait for the AMD’s Ryzen 9000Zen 5 models.
